New York: My City of Love

I ♥ NYC

Out of all the places I have traveled in the world, I have never encountered a place with an atmosphere as energetic as New York City. After all, it is the city that never sleeps! It is a place that evokes strong emotions; most people know pretty quickly whether they love or hate it. For me, whenever I see that famous skyline, I am filled with the same sense of wonder and awe that I feel when I look at a mountain range like The Grand Tetons. The latter impressive for its natural beauty; the former for its man-made brilliance. Yes, it gets cold, dirty, and there are way too many people there all the time, but whenever I feel the subway rumbling under my feet or hear the honk of a yellow cab, I can’t help but fall in love. New York City is my City of Love.

Never Ending Opportunities

There is just so much to do! There is an endless supply of blogs, social media accounts, and articles written daily about all the events and opportunities taking place in all five boroughs. If you are interested in my list of recommended outlets to follow, reach out to me through the contact page on this site! It is impossible to get bored in this city! There are an abundant number of restaurants, walking tours, sporting events, plays, musicals, and bars. You can get around by the subway, bikes, a taxi, or even a horse-drawn-carriage ride. You can meander the quirky side streets of the East or West Village, enjoy your time at the top of a skyscraper, or spend time by the water. It is impossible to get bored in that town. Every time I visit, I discover something new.

Worth the Experience

Boring people do not live there. If you have not checked out Humans of New York, stop reading and do it right now. No matter whatever oddities of people (we all have them), this city somehow remains resilient, magnetic, and accepting. The people may be tougher and not greet you with patient Midwest manners, but where else in the world can you find a Little Italy and Chinatown right on top of one another? Or a financial capital down the street from an indie arts hub? Not to mention, sprawling green fields surrounded by 60 story buildings? What about a single bridge built a hundred years ago that transfers cars, buses, bikes, trains, and pedestrians from one island to another? I have never encountered the breadth of diversity in any other place I have had the privilege of experiencing. And that’s truly what New York City is… an experience.

City People

With all this diversity, activities, and atmosphere, New York City is the perfect place to meet someone special. It feels like there is someone there for everyone. Even if you do not enjoy city life or are only visiting, I guarantee you are not the only person within a five-block radius who feels that way. So next time you get the chance, go get lost in the grid of New York City. Who knows? Maybe you will turn the corner and lock eyes with the exact person you were meant to meet.
